Hangi with chicken

Tue May 18, 2004, 5:56 AM
Tonight we ate a fanastic kiwi-style meal at Joel's place. He cooked us some chicken and vegetables and stuff in a hangi...kind of this "earth oven"...you heat up some rocks, bury the food with the rocks, and hey presto three hours later it is cooked!

The potatoes tasted a little like smoke, and the pork wasn't quite cooked. A reasonable amount of dirt was spilt near and on the food. But it was a great night: Rob D, Aaron Hollier, myself and Joel performed a well-classy haka for everyone.
